Dedication

• To the man on the roadside trail to Sarangkot, Nepal, whose playing of a singing bowl first set me on this journey.

• To the children who leapt with laughter when water in a singing bowl splashed like magic.

• To the teenager who chose a singing bowl for her father, trusting that its sound might offer him comfort as he battled depression.

• To the customers who cried at my stall, releasing what words couldn’t express, and to those who carried the grief of losing a child.

• To everyone who brought me tea or coffee as a thank you, whether or not they ever bought a bowl.

• To the countless souls who felt like family from the very first meeting.

• To everyone who has supported Singbowl since 2009, making this work possible.

To my wife, my partner and best friend since 2005, and my business partner from the very beginning. You were there when I heard a singing bowl for the first time, before it became a livelihood, before it became a calling. You encouraged me to say yes to the unknown, to load our grey van, the Hippo, with singing bowls and camping gear, and to travel across the Australian outback with curiosity and trust. You taught me about musical notes, scales, and chords, and you treated the singing bowl idea like your first baby, protecting it, nurturing it, and believing in it long before it made sense to anyone else.

We learned every lesson together. We shared the hard moments, the laughter, the ridiculous situations, and the quiet wins. This book carries the imprint of all our adventures, our humour, and the life we built side by side.

This is as much yours as it is mine.

With love and gratitude.
