About the Book

Singing bowls have travelled a remarkable journey, from traditional Himalayan craftsmanship to meditation rooms, wellness centres, and sound baths around the world. Along the way, they have inspired fascination, healing traditions, and no shortage of myths. This book offers a practical and balanced guide to understanding and working with these remarkable instruments.

Beginning with the simple act of producing the first sound, the book gradually introduces readers to the history, making, acoustics, and skilful use of both metallic and crystal singing bowls. Topics such as meditation, stress relief, sound healing, chakras, special frequencies, bowl selection, and the delivery of sound baths are explored in a practical and contemporary way while remaining respectful of traditional knowledge and informed by modern scientific understanding.

Written from the perspective of a long-time practitioner, teacher, and retailer, this book combines hands-on experience with careful research and honest reflection. Whether you are purchasing your first bowl, deepening an existing practice, or offering sound sessions to others, it is intended to serve as a warm, reliable, and grounded companion on your journey with sound.
